The Cooperative Agricultural Producers s.c.a., built in 1961 on the initiative of 14 agricultural workers in the area, has its headquarters and factory in San Pancrazio Salentino (Br) at Via del Mare. The original name was, however, Cantina Sociale di Trepuzzi, because in that town was located the first headquarters. The structure that was once used to work was that of a great and ancient wine factory, whose owner was Chevalier Antonio Bianco, wine-making entrepreneur of national fame and owner of vast areas of vineyards. Ten years later the business of manufacturing and processing of the grapes was transferred to its present location. The cooperative has about 900 contributing members, whose vineyards, extended for a total of 1,000 hectares, bred in large part to Apulian sapling, are located in the countryside of San Pancrazio Salentino and Sandonaci in the province of Brindisi and in Guagnano and in Salice Salentino in the province of Lecce. The wines produced mainly derive from grapes of varieties Negroamaro and Malvasia Nera, not lacking contributions of Primitivo, Malvasia Bianca, Lambrusco, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Montepulciano. The vineyards brought by members of the Cooperative Agricultural Producers fall mainly in the production area of DOC Salice Salentino. The ability to combining tradition and innovation in winemaking certainly makes the strength of the cooperative so that it is able to produce wines of excellent quality, that receive great acclaim in the markets and in the major wine competitions. The generous land of Salento Plain, dry and warm, the climate, the temperature variations between day and night, and finally the skillful work of our farmers contribute to the production of beautiful and fragrant grapes grown in the characteristic structure "Apulian sapling." The old tradition of Salento viticulture is confirmed by the numerous archaeological finds of amphorae for the transport of wine, dating back to Roman times and earlier, both on the mainland and in the crystal clear sea in front of Porto Cesareo - bay and around the Ionian Sea which is just 12 kms from the cooperative. The adaptation of plants to the technological innovations of the cooperative and a careful selection of grapes combine to achieve excellent wines to offer to its customers in accordance with the old traditions of a wonderful land.
